Tera Moody’s Insomnia, Success, and Role as Guest Blogger

Tera Moody, of Boulder, CO, set a personal record in the 5k at the Freihofer’s Run for Women on May 30, 2009. Since then her year has taken some interesting twists. She competed in the marathon at the World Championships in Berlin and is now the subject of a feature article in the September issue of Runner’s World magazine. The piece, called “Tera Moody Can’t Sleep,” focuses on Tera’s incessant insomnia — going back more than 17 years — and how it affects her training and racing. The article provides some fascinating insight into the mind and motivation of this world-class runner.

Freihofer’s Run Runner-Up Wins 37th CIGNA Falmouth Road Race

Mamitu Daska, the runner-up at this year’s Freihofer’s Run for Women, won the 37th CIGNA Falmouth Road Race on Sunday morning in Falmout, MA, beating out 9,000 other competitors over the 7-mile course. The male winner was fellow Ethiopian Tilahun Regassa.

Samuelson to Run NYC Marathon

We here at Freihfoer’s Run for Women are obviously fans of Joan Benoit Samuelson. Not only because she’s a spokesperson for the Run (did you know that?), but also because she was (and still is) a trailblazer in the field of women’s running.
