Name: Suzanne Pris

Residence: Clifton Park, NY
Hometown: Rice Lake, WI
Number of FRW races: 3

My athletic background is skipping.
I have run on and off since college, but running has become integral to my life in the last few years. While I like the health benefits and staying fit, my main reason for running is so I can keep up with my kids.
I would like to come in under 30 minutes at next year’s FRW race.
I normally run 20-25 miles a week. I am currently training for the U.S. Marine Corp Half-Marathon on October 11, so my weekly mileage is steadily increasing.
I am a morning person and my days always go much better when I start the day with a run. I am awake before my kids five days a week in order to have enough time for my running. I do most of my training on a treadmill out of necessity. Once it gets warm I run outside at least once a week.
Running is mine. I am a stay-at-home-mom to a preschooler and kindergartener which leaves little time for me. I cherish the quiet and uninterrupted time. My runs serve as a time to de-stress, find answers to problems, and I mull things over. There is no better alone time than when I’m a couple miles from the house with only the sound of birds and animals to keep me company.
I run because my philosophy for life is “love the life you live!” Running helps me love my life more fully.
