I’ve been running for 2 years. Before taking up running in 2007, my only other “sport” was martial arts. (I hold black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Shorin Ryu Karate.)
My goal for next year is to break 6:30 in the mile and 22:45 in the 5K. (Current PRs are 6:37 and 22:56.)
I’m just coming off an injury, so my weekly mileage right now is only 10 or so. My normal volume is 25.
I train in the mid-morning after my 8:30 meeting. It’s early enough that I can’t get too busy or tired to go and late enough for the temperature to have warmed up from the cold Adirondack nights.
I like running’s simplicity. I’ve started triathlon training, and now that I bike and swim, I appreciate just lacing up my shoes and getting out there.
Why do I run? Easy: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream.
