I’m 29 Today!

I’m 29 years old today! I think there is a certain age where you aren’t supposed to enjoy your birthday anymore…and I’m definitley not there yet! Im having an awesome day in Chicago on Christmas vacation. I wanted to do something running related for my birthday and I tried to find a race but since its December my options are pretty limited. I am planning on running an indoor mile tomorrow which seems pretty crazy short but I want to do something fun and mix it up.
Last weekend was the Club Cross Country Championships in Lexington. We had over 20 people from our Boulder Running Company team travel together and compete. The men took second and we successfully defended our championship title! Its nice to get to do events that have more of a team focus and are a little more low key.
Even thought I wasn’t super fit going in I thought I would have run a little bit better. But I ran my hardest and thats all you can ask for on a given day. Plus we stll got the team win and that was most important to me.
We stayed up a bit too late the night after the race but we had a ton of fun together. We landed in Denver on Sunday evening and I had to drive to Boulder to do some work. Then I was up super early the next morning to do a long run and drive to Colorado Springs for jury duty. Needless to say it was a very long couple of days! I am still way off my schedule and trying to catch up on some much needed zzzzzzzs. I’m asking santa for sleep this year!

Happy Birthday! If you are in Chicago, google running in Chicago and there are some great “paths” to follow around the streets of Chicago with interesting info on buildings, attractions, etc.. Enjoy the holiday in the windy city! G
