Do You Want to Run a 5k?

Who wants to run the Freihofer’s Run for Women 5k this June? Did you run in the past but stopped? Have you always wanted to be a runner but you didn’t know where to start? Well, I have a solution!

This spring I will be mentoring at the Fleet Feet No Boundaries program. I urge you to stop by Fleet Feet on Wolf Road this Sunday, February 28th at 4:30 p.m. to find out more information. The program is absolutely amazing!

No Boundaries is a beginners 5k training program. It is setup similar to Couch to 5k (which is how I got started). You will start off with a walk/jog routine and slowly work your way up to running the entire time. There are so many people at different levels that you won’t feel out of place. I’ve personally become great friends with several past NoBo participants and I will tell you they are now running half marathons!

What do you have to lose? Running has changed my life for the better and I know it can do the same for you! I would personally love to have a hand in changing your life.

Last but not least this past weekend I participated in the HMRRC Winter Marathon Relay. My team completed 26.2 miles in 4:22. There were wind gusts up to 41 mph and it was brutal! Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to run a marathon in the middle of winter in Upstate NY?

Guess what? I HAD THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! I ran the 11.2 mile leg of the race and ran my fastest 11 miles ever. Despite the conditions I was able to dig deep and shave 4 minutes off of my previous 11 mile time. I’ve said it before; I love to race! I feel so happy and comfortable when I am at a running event.

I hope to see you this spring at the NoBo program!

Great program! Let me know if you would like to try one of our lights for your evening group runs (it literally lights up an entire 2 lane rd) for running – I can send you one.

Good luck w/ the FFNB! I just sent my sister the C25k link, as we were just talking about her getting into running thx.
