Running for Two

This year’s Freihofer’s Run for Women will be a significant one for me. It’s not an anniversary; I’m running my ninth Freihofer’s and that’s hardly a milestone for a race that has been around as long as this one. Nor am I expecting a PR or even shooting for a specific finish time like I have in the past.

Shamrock Shuffle

Sorry for not blogging much lately. It’s been a rough couple of weeks. But I am very happy to report I was able to run the Shamrock Shuffle this morning. Walking over to the warm up area I didn’t think it was going to happen. My foot was KILLING me with every step and I was almost in tears. I had been looking forward to this race for awhile.

I Ran Like a Princess!

On March 7th I joined over 10,000 women and ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon!

This was my second half marathon and I was more nervous then my first. When I ran my first half I didn’t know what to expect and my only goal was to finish. My hope was to finish in 2:45 and my secret “pie in the sky” goal was to finish in 2:30. I ended up finishing my first half marathon in 2:26. I was so incredibly proud of myself. Never did I think I could run 13.1 miles and I did it faster then I expected.

“Team In Training” Partners With Freihofer’s Run for Women

Team In Training is offering an 8 week training program for the 5K, beginning on April 1st. We have phenomenal coaches who will provide participants with a training schedule and we host two team trainings each week, which makes it a lot easier to get the miles in. Team members often make long-lasting friendships in the course of the program. The program is geared towards athletes of all ability levels – from first timers to people with ambitious finishing time goals.

Gearing Up for the Shamrock Shuffle

I am really excited to run the Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago in March. I love the city and the race is so much fun. My mom, dad, and brother will all be in town that weekend and I can’t wait to spend time with them. My brother is actually going to run too! It will be the first time we are in the same event together.
