From the Times Union:

Jodie Robertson ran in the Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston on Jan. 14, a feat even more impressive considering it was the second marathon of her life.

Robertson, who lives in Voorheesville, came in 57th place among women with a time of 2 hours, 42 minutes, 31 seconds. The top three finishers — Shalane FlanaganDesiree Davila and Kara Goucher — will represent the United States in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

“I felt honored to have been a part of (the trials),” Robertson said. “Everyone works so hard to get there. It’s great to be on (the starting) line with so many women who have worked hard for this.”

With London out of reach, the 27-year-old Robertson is setting her sights toward the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“That’s definitely the goal,” she said. “I hope this is just the beginning of something more in the future.”
