It’s been several weeks since I blogged and I apologize. My last post I was asking for votes for the Progresso Souper You contest. Guess what?! I WON!! On May 21st I will be heading to NYC for a head to toe makeover and shopping spree. I am beyond excited. I am in desperate need of a hair cut (my hair is to my waist).

I’ve mentioned before that Wednesday is my Weight Watchers weigh-in day. I don’t go to the meetings with expectations. There have been weeks that I expected to lose a lot of weight only to gain. I’ve learned that our bodies are so complex and you can never predict what it will do.

I Ran Like a Princess!

On March 7th I joined over 10,000 women and ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon!

On the outside I looked happy but what was going on inside of me was so sad. I was embarrassed by my appearance. I would walk with my head down afraid to make eye contact. I constantly felt like people were making fun of me. I never ate in public – I didn’t want to give people reason to make fun of me. I hid from the camera and only have a handful of pictures to document how big I really was.

What’s Next?

After my first 5k I spent the following months focusing on the amount of time running. I worked my way up to running for a full hour (approx 4.5 miles). By March 2009 I was down 75lbs! Not only did I have a new body, I had a new found passion for running.

The Beginning

When you are 276 lbs you don’t run. You hope and pray that you are never put in a position that you even have to think about running. So for me to say that I am a runner blows my mind to this day. Let me back track…
