Get Involved in the 22nd Community Walk!

If you didn’t know, the Freihofer’s Run for Women weekend features events in addition to the 5k race! One of them is the Community Walk, which is now in its 22nd year. This unique community event enables hundreds of not-for profit organizations to raise money and awareness by being part of the largest running event in the Capital Region. There is no cost for organizations or walkers to participate and all monies raised go directly to the not-for profit groups. With the difficult economy and more people in our communities needing help, event organizers are placing a special emphasis on this year’s Walk. A kick-off meeting was held last month to bring more non-profits on board and to start the planning process on how to get more walkers out on the course on June 5th. Freihofer’s Community Walk Kick-Off Event

Organizers of the 22nd Annual Freihofer’s Community Walk (slated for Saturday June 5, 2010) will hold a kickoff event at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10th at The Meeting Room at The Crossings of Colonie. This is a great opportunity for many non-profits to spread awareness and raise funds for their own organizations. There is no fee to participate and 100% of the money you raise goes back to your organization. Freihofer’s supplies food, entertainment and logistics. So get your supporters, volunteers and board members involved to help lead a team for your non-profit organization.
