Have You Ever Just Quit?

Is there something you’ve been dying to do that requires focus and effort? I have been trying to get in shape for the 32nd Annual Freihofer’s Run for Women on June 5th. I have been running over the years, sometimes competing but mostly to maintain my health. I seemed to be off to a good start, putting in about 3 weeks of daily running on my treadmill. Then with reasons unknown, I quit. Just like that. It wasn’t that I said ‘I’m not doing that anymore’ or made a declaration, I just quit. In 1979 I ran the American heart Associations’ Run for Life sponsored by Price Chopper Supermarkets. It was called the Adirondack A.A.U. 8-mile Run which I finished in 79 minutes, 42 seconds. I know it’s true because I have the certificate signed by Neil Golub in front of me! I cherish the certificate and have kept it all these years. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at the certificate and swore I would run again. I never did.
This coming spring I will.
