Freihofer’s Weekend Report
Posted by Tera Moody | June 9, 2010 | 3 Comments
I had such a great time at Freihofers last weekend and I’m bummed its over. I really enjoyed meeting a lot of great kids at the 3 schools I spoke to in town. They were so energetic and asked a lot of questions about my lifestyle, training, and diet. Mostly they wanted to know how fast I am (and if I have any pets) but I tried to emphasize the importance of health over speed.

Shamrock Shuffle
Posted by Tera Moody | March 26, 2010 | 2 Comments
Sorry for not blogging much lately. It’s been a rough couple of weeks. But I am very happy to report I was able to run the Shamrock Shuffle this morning. Walking over to the warm up area I didn’t think it was going to happen. My foot was KILLING me with every step and I was almost in tears. I had been looking forward to this race for awhile.

Gearing Up for the Shamrock Shuffle
Posted by Tera Moody | March 2, 2010 | No Comments
I am really excited to run the Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago in March. I love the city and the race is so much fun. My mom, dad, and brother will all be in town that weekend and I can’t wait to spend time with them. My brother is actually going to run too! It will be the first time we are in the same event together.

Bit of a Break
Posted by Tera Moody | February 13, 2010 | No Comments
I haven’t been training at full volume since my half marathon. I think my body needed a little break and my plantar has been bothering me. I had hoped to resume regular training next week but I will have to see how it feels. I always thought if I got injured I would be pretty upset but it hasn’t been bad since I can still do some running and racing.

Sixth Place and a PR in Houston
Posted by Tera Moody | January 18, 2010 | 2 Comments
Yesterday I raced in Houston at the USATF Half Marathon Championships. Two nights before the race Elva Dryer gave a talk about a new Jenny Crain mentorship program that USATF is starting. Jenny Crain is an amazing runner who was training for the olympic trials when she got hit by a car a couple of years ago. She is slowly working towards just being able to do normal daily activities and it will likely be a long road ahead for her. Elva stressed to not take for granted that we are ABLE to run and to really enjoy it.

I Love the Treadmill
Posted by Tera Moody | January 8, 2010 | 1 Comment
A lot of people seem to dislike running on a treadmill. I’m not one of them. I tend to run 30-40 percent of my weekly mileage inside regardless of the weather. In the winter that sometimes increases to 50% if its really rough out.

Christmas Bingo
Posted by Tera Moody | December 29, 2009 | No Comments
I’m back in Colorado after spending time in Illinois for Christmas. Every year we drive down to my grandma’s house in “Amazing Arcola.” It’s a REALLY small town (they still have brick roads!) and a nice change of pace after a few days in Chicago. There isn’t much in the way of entertainment so everyone just sits around and eats, talks, and eats some more. Then on Christmas Eve the excitement begins! First we videotape everyone saying what their highlight of the year was (mine was running in the World Championships). Then my grandma gives everyone spoons with their initials carved in them and proof sets to the grandkids.

I’m 29 Today!
Posted by Tera Moody | December 18, 2009 | 1 Comment
I’m 29 years old today! I think there is a certain age where you aren’t supposed to enjoy your birthday anymore…and I’m definitley not there yet! Im having an awesome day in Chicago on Christmas vacation. I wanted to do something running related for my birthday and I tried to find a race but since its december my options are pretty limited. I am planning on running an indoor mile tomorrow which seems pretty crazy short but I want to do something fun and mix it up.

The AIR Foundation: Activity Inspired Rehabilitation
Posted by Tera Moody | November 19, 2009 | No Comments
This Saturday I’m heading up to the Denver Rescue Mission Harvest Farm Facility near Fort Collins. It will begin my involvement with The AIR Foundation and I’m really excited! The Air Foundation helps recovering addicts by training them for endurance events. I heard about them at the RACE convention and knew immediately it was something I wanted to be a part of.
