Freihofer’s Run Runner-Up Wins 37th CIGNA Falmouth Road Race

Mamitu Daska, the runner-up at this year’s Freihofer’s Run for Women, won the 37th CIGNA Falmouth Road Race on Sunday morning in Falmout, MA, beating out 9,000 other competitors over the 7-mile course. The male winner was fellow Ethiopian Tilahun Regassa.

Defending champion, Johnson, places sixth.
Record field of more than 4000 women over-run the streets of the state capital.
Teyba Erkesso, 26, from Ethiopia won the 31st edition of the Freihofer’s Run for Women 5K, capturing a $10,000 first prize; but it was only after a down to the wire tussle with her compatriot, Mamitu Daska, 25.
